The bald eagle rests on a perch in the reverse design. Please keep in mind you may receive coins with the same or varying grading house labels when buying several. The $10 Gold Eagle Coin was first issued by the United States Mint in 1795. The coins were issued annually by the US Mint through 1916, with the last redesign of the Liberty and eagle images coming courtesy of Augustus Saint-Gaudens in 1907. From 1916 to 1933, however, the coins were struck irregularly. Only 1 million $10 Gold Eagles were issued by the Philadelphia Mint branch in 1926 and it was the only year in the 1920s that the Philadelphia branch struck the $10 denomination. All of these 1926 $10 Indian Gold Eagle Coins come with a Mint State 63 certification. Coins in this condition have a slightly impaired, though attractive mint luster. The coins will have only a few detracting flaws present in the prime focal areas, with a few scattered hairlines and either several minor contact marks or a handful of heavier contact marks present on the surface of the coins. Lady Liberty wears an indigenous, feathered headdress on the obverse side of 1926 Indian Gold Eagle Coins. This design was created in 1907 by Augustus Saint-Gaudens and used only on the $10 denomination of US Eagles. An American bald eagle is shown resting on a sheaf of arrows in the reverse design of 1926 $10 Indian Gold Eagles. Saint-Gaudens created this design as well and included an olive branch wrapped around the sheaf of arrows in the design field.
