Pre-33 $10 Indian Gold Eagle Coin

  • Description
The Indian Gold Eagle coin from the United States Mint was available in the early 20th century and replaced the long-running design from Christian Gobrecht. The Indian Gold Eagle was, in actuality, a design of Liberty wearing a Native American feathered headdress and was featured only sporadically. Coin Highlights: Coins arrive inside of the PCGS or NGC protective plastic slab! Struck between 1907 and 1933! Limited availability of certified Indian Gold Eagles! Contains .48375 Troy oz of actual gold content. Bears a face value of $10 (USD) backed by the federal government. Issued a Grade of Mint State 63 by the Professional Coin Grading Service or Numismatic Guaranty Corporation. Lady Liberty with a feathered headdress is on the obverse. The American bald eagle clutches arrows and an olive branch on the reverse. Each of the Pre-33 $10 Indian Gold Eagle Coins in this product listing comes to you with a Mint State 63 certification from the PCGS or NGC. Coins in MS63 condition exhibit slightly impaired mint luster with numerous small contact marks and a few heavy marks. You may also notice small hairlines that may be visible without magnification. On the obverse of the Pre-33 $10 Indian Gold Eagle is the left-profile portrait of Lady Liberty. She wears a feathered headdress upon her head and has 13 stars located above her headdress. There is a date mark below her bust on this side. The reverse of the $10 Indian Gold Eagle features an American bald eagle standing on a quiver full of arrows wrapped in an olive branch. This side of the coin lacks the national motto for date marks of 1907 and 1908. All coins struck from late 1908 through 1933 have the national motto of In God We Trust on this face of the coin. Augustus Saint-Gaudens, designer of Liberty for the $20 Gold Double Eagle, created the artwork for both the obverse and reverse of the Indian Gold Eagles.
