Pre-33 $10 Liberty Gold Eagle Coin

  • Description
As one of the most widely revered and recognized coins in the world, the $10 Liberty Gold Eagle is extremely sought after by collectors and investors alike. This celebrated coin was introduced in 1838. Many previously minted Gold Eagle Coins were either hoarded or melted because of the discrepancy associated with their worth and face value. Congress was finally moved to pass new bills which, in effect, authorized the minting of the new 1838 Gold Eagle. An engraver named Christian Gobrecht designed this Liberty Gold Eagle Coin that features an eagle and American crest along with the inscription, In God We Trust. The eagle holds an olive branch and arrows in its talons. Customers will note the exquisite detail of the engraving and the fine craftsmanship associated with the production of these coins. The obverse side of the coin features Lady Liberty with her hair knotted and her head adorned with a coronet that reads Liberty. This historic design is known for its elegance and exceptional artistry. Each $10 Liberty Gold Eagle (MS61) is produced with .48375 oz of gold.
